http://www.dreamstime.com/-image21054025Today we are taking a slight detour from our talks on gut health, although not completely unrelated since that does greatly influence today’s topic, the female reproductive system. In fact, most people are fooling themselves about the relationships between the health of the body’s interconnected systems. I cover this in greater detail in our powerful and in-depth trainings on the Endocrine System, but today I want to address this from another angle.

This blog comes about really from outrage at the misinformation continually being put out as “expert” information on the internet.  (On a lighter note, please see the car insurance commercial posted in “On Google, Guessing, and Being Gullible”)  And, while it is a “soapbox” for me, it could be life-saving for you and/or the women in your life. For that reason, I will step on up on the soapbox today without hesitation and without apology.

I read recently in a Christian magazine that taking birth control pills straight through the month, month after month, to facilitate skipping your monthly cycle for women is not only OK, but healthy. It went further to say that it doesn’t negatively impact your health and that the “week off” is not really a menstrual period anyway, therefore, not detrimental to skip altogether.

So, first…  whoever thinks this could be true and healthy is fooling themselves and others! This is NOT. NOT. NOT True. It is outrageously wrong. Do NOT believe this just because it justifies your convenience. VERY bad. VERY VERY bad mindset which results in catastrophically bad physical choices.

Know this: Reaching far, far beyond the monthly convenience issue, fooling the body is never, never, never going to result in health.

This “article”, as I mentioned, was featured in a Christian women’s magazine. I had popped over to it on the internet because a Facebook friend had been honored by the magazine and I wanted to “Like” the page in support of her recognition. I had in fact already hit “Like” and then began reading around the site when I came to the article. Always interested in staying connected with topics in this arena, of course I stopped to read. I have to say, I was so enraged at the misinformation and deception that it took several days for me to even be able to write the blog.

Let me stop here and say, that I truly believe the writer personally meant no ill-will and no deception what-so-ever. She was a still student and quite obviously deceived by similar articles, “research”, which is born of a deeply secular “science” viewpoint that perpetually ignores the fearfully wonderfully made design of the body, purporting views as science that completely work against the God-given design and wisdom of the body. So she, like her readers, are left to follow advice that is founded on the foundational premise that there is no harm in fooling the body, no repercussion to lying, no adverse effects from deceiving the harmoniously balanced systems of the body.

Listen, you simply cannot take as Truth everything you read or hear on the internet, media, or anywhere else. And, most reasonable people know that. But yet, so many are still following such bad advice that it is outrageous. My thoughts are in so many directions it is hard to stay narrow in this but I am drawing deeply here in an effort to help at least our bunch of readers in some ways that just might be monumental in the long run.

So, how are you to know what you can believe? The first answer is follow your heart, not your hormones or your head.

Here is the Truth.  Like the writer of the referenced article, we sometimes are blinded both by secular media and by our own carnal nature’s desire to believe that which is more convenient or easy for us… especially in regard to physical disciplines or inconveniences.

Carnally, physically, we like to believe things that say skipping that “time of the curse” is fine and even healthy! What pre-menopausal woman doesn’t want that to be true? Did you know that as of 2009, the US Dept of Health and Human services reports that a hysterectomy is the second most common surgery among women in the United States. The most common surgery in women is childbirth by cesarean section delivery. Many sources believe that up to 60% of these are unnecessary surgeries, surgeries of convenience, to doctor, to patient, or both.

So be honest. How many of you use or agree with the phrase “monthly curse”?

The Truth is, your monthly flow, ladies, is a sign of LIFE and one of the signs of the magnificent power that is in you. You get to. It is a blessing. Hello. It is one of the biggest most profound blessings. You get to. You don’t have to. You get to. THAT is a heart revelation, not a head justification.

So, yes, sometimes are blinded both by media and by our own carnal nature’s desire to believe that which is more convenient or easy for us. We like to believe any “science” or “expert” that says we really can use pills or shots to reset our bodies back to skinny while eating anything our lusts desire. So, where’s that herb, pill, surgery, magic bullet, that will restore my youth, burn excess weight, and tighten my skin all at the same time I eat my dozen *hot* donuts?

Sweet people, we are so trained to separate and compartmentalize by the entire culture around us. The ultimate purpose of that is so that we can justify things that our spirit definitely knows is WRONG. The ultimate purpose of marketing to that is to sell us on the idea that we really do not have to change!

This conversation could go on in many directions, but let’s wrap up today with this on our original subject:

So, how are you to know what you can believe? The first answer is to be led by the design and the function of the body! You are fearfully and wonderfully made! Healthy choices will never disagree with the original design and desire of your body.  Never.

Our bodies are designed to work as a symphony, chemically, electrically, structurally. We are three-part beings, comprised of Spirit, Soul, and Body, made in God’s image. When we presume that our way is better than that way, that design, we are in truth saying we know better than the One who created us.

My favorite book says, “If anyone thinks they are important when they aren’t, they’re fooling themselves.”

Lying, deceiving, or fooling the spirit, soul, and/or body is always deception. Because all deception produces conflict or separation, it always produces dis-ease and eventual death.

If you are not having your cycle, if you are skipping it, or it’s not regular and right, your body’s God-designed system is communicating to you that you need to make some changes… now. Don’t fall into the mental trap of enjoying it’s absence or put off investigating until you want it to start gain. And certainly don’t cause it to cease on purpose for convenience. There are ramifications and consequences way far beyond what you can see or consider in one small decision of comfort or convenience. Those who do not believe this are… fooling themselves.

I implore you today, stop guessing, Google-ling, and being gullible with your health! Stop reading and falling for all manner of falsehood. Become aware of what and who you give ear to. And by all means, when you need help, treatment, or instruction, get in touch, sign-up for our coaching groups, join the wellness teams here, but plug in to real truth, that is both Biblical AND scientific.

Regarding today’s topic specifically, the Endocrine System, including the female reproductive system, is one of our strongest teachings. We have years of clinical experience, 1000’s of hours of education and nutritional training, and the witness of The Word by which we teach our clients. In addition to thousands of lay persons endeavoring to reclaim health, I’ve also personally trained doctors and pharmacists in our classes that have been totally blown away with the level of revelation God has given to help people get healthy.

It’s not hard. It’s not complicated. When you work with the design of the body, it works for you producing health. When you work against the design of the body, it produces disease.

My heartfelt desire for you is that you may be as healthy and prosperous in every way as you are prosperous in your soul ~ your mind, will, and emotions. ~ Michelle
