I wanted to pass along a quick little way to remember how to improve and maintain health in your digestive system. At the same time, I realized that makes the perfect opportunity to remind you of our Picture of Health High Five ways to gain health and drop inches, especially that stubborn belly fat! So, it’s a “two-fer”, a two-for-one post that will produce multiplied results and rewards!
The first tip is a quick way to remember what is healthy for digestion. Here are the 3 F’s on how NOT to fail at gut health:
Fats ~ Fiber ~ Fluids
Good fats like coconut, avocado, and EFA’s help to kill off bad bacteria while they contribute to healing the gut lining. Fiber, like psyllium and good vegetables, help to keep the GI tract moving without cramping and also help prevent build-up and toxicity. Fluids, especially water, help soften stools, bulk waste, and dilute toxicity while promoting regular evacuation. All of these “F’s” help with the fitness of the intestinal tract, improving the immune system AND the hormonal system of the body’s chemical (endocrine) system by as much as 85%.
So, go ahead. Get your F’s in digestion. In this case, F is not for fail it is for optimal fitness.
And now as a bonus, here are The Picture of Health’s top 5 fastest ways to gain health and drop inches. Without any fluff (pause for chuckles), here they are:
1. Get the GI tract, your gut, healthy! Research shows that the average American male has 7-10 pounds of undigested putrifying food in the gut on any normal day, the average female… 5-7 pounds. Get the bowels moving regularly – defined as 1-3 times daily! In just the first week, these five tips can produce a quick 5-10 pound weight loss purely from improving the gut health. Here’s my quote…
“Move it to lose it.” (Original, I know.)
2. Fast from bread and yeast products for at least a full week every year. This will help the GI tract be cleaned by fiber of increased vegetables and lean meats and fats to heal. Here’s my quote…
“The less bread, the less lead; the more Bread, the more Led.” (Selah)
3. Drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water daily. You cannot flush without the water. And I do mean water, not just liquid. Here’s my quote…
“If you want to budge the pudge, flush the sludge.”
4. Eliminate stimulants. It is all chemistry: stimulants spike your insulin, adrenaline, and cortisol. All three of these are FAT STORING HORMONES. These Big 3 are responsible for that mid-section mid-life weight gain. Here’s my quote…
“The less you stim, the more you slim.”
5. Increase intake of good fats, including Omega 3, Flax oil*, and especially coconut oil. Here’s my quote…
“Turn up the fat to burn up the fat!”
It really is that easy. Don’t make it hard. Gut Health = Gain Health. With just a few simple changes, you will see remarkable results in your immune system, your hormone balance, and the stability of a healthy weight.
As encouragement, I leave you with this today as we fill ourselves with the goodness of God, gaining health all along the way, from Psalm 103:5 in “The Voice” translation:
When your soul is famished and withering,
He fills you with good and beautiful things, satisfying you as long as you live.
He makes you strong like an eagle, restoring your youth.
