valentines daySo, you are single. And it’s a holiday, maybe even Valentines Day…

Here’s a heart checkup with the Dr’s Wife…

One of the kindest things someone said to me after my husband moved to heaven recently was this… on the special days, do something special for yourself and others. There was so much wisdom and love in that caring foresight.
And, as we approach Valentines Day, I see so many posts on Social Media about being without, about what we do’t know, don’t have, can’t change.
Listen, we single people, we have options! So, yes, you can sit around and feel sorry for yourself and fill social media with woe is me, or even worse… you can pretend, while still feeling sorry for yourself inside… or…

OR you can choose to #LiveFully. Your HEART choices determine the path and destination of your future!

Let’s think on what we DO have. What we DO know. What we can change. What we CAN DO!
If you are single this year and don’t like the thought of spending Valentines Day (or any other holidays) alone, take some action! The good kind mind you. 😀 Have some friends over, go out with a group, gather the family, celebrate the strong marriages around you, or sow incredible seed and joyfully keep some couple’s kids so they can go out (or stay in hint hint 😉 ).

Valentines Day (and all holidays) can be about love without leaving you feeling left out! It is ALL in how YOU CHOOSE to see it. And don’t give me the “I know, but…” look.

#YouChoose. Life or death is in the power of your tongue. If you wish you had someone to give you gifts, plan out how to give a gift to someone else who won’t have one! I’m gathering with friends and family for Vision Sunday celebration this Valentines Day. And then I’m dropping off a little dinner out cash to some neighbors who have been especially kind to me these last three months. But you could do it for a single person too.
Wow. Do something for another single person? Now that’s a radical thought. Even more powerful would be that if you do it without commenting on how neither of you have anyone or both will have someone next time! (See, that is not really getting it, it is still feeling sorry for yourselves so… stop it, and stop disguising it with faith “talk” when you are really still feeling sorry for yourself. Little bit of tough love there.)

#BelieveInLove and let Love change your heart!

And yes, in case you are wondering, I HAVE earned the place to give this love lecture*. And yes, I do expect great things from those whom I love, and from those who have given me place in their lives to coach or counsel, and I will have that which I believe and speak: God’s BEST in their lives and mine. I expect MORE from you. Because I love you.
As for the tribe I walk with, we will never feel sorry for ourselves, we will #BeIntentional #LiveFully #LiveCourageously and #LOVEextravagantly.

So, I choose that Valentines Day won’t be hard for me this year. And I ask you, please don’t give me pity hugs or send me “encouraging” ‘I know you are hurting’ messages. Of course I hurt. Beyond all imagination. I do. So, I don’t need any reminders of that. But then, neither do you other singles need reminding that you are “still” single.
My thought is, we all need to remind ourselves that we are ABOVE ALL, ABUNDANTLY BLESSED* with opportunities to love all around us!

As for me, don’t feel sorry for me because I’m a widow* on Valentines Day. I’m adored by The Most High. I’m a King and a Priest. (And, in love, I expect myself and my tribe to act like it, everyday, including holidays, including on Valentines Day.)
If you are compelled to remind me of something, tell me God is GOOD and buy me a pedicure*. Or dark chocolate. Or a convertible. I like red, unless they have pink. Or an SUV for the team.
(Just kidding. Not looking for a gift from you, although it does leave the door open for a deposit to your heavenly account. 🙂  Seriously though, God will use someone. He takes extraordinarily, supernaturally, great care of His Bride.)

Expect MORE, get MORE*.

Love someone deeply today.
I will see you from the mountain tops, or from them if you snooze. ~ Mi

*Some of the Scriptural basis for the message above…

Psalm 4:6-8 (AMP)

Many are saying, “Oh, that we might see some good!”
Lift up the light of Your face upon us, O Lord.

You have put joy! in my heart, more than others know when their wheat and new wine have yielded abundantly.
In peace and with a tranquil heart I will both lie down and sleep,
For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety and confident trust.

Matthew 13:12 (AMP)

For whoever has spiritual wisdom because he is receptive to God’s word, to him more will be given, and he will be richly and abundantly supplied; but whoever does not have spiritual wisdom because he has devalued God’s word, even what he has will be taken away from him.

2 Corinthians 8:9 (AMP)

For you are recognizing more clearly the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, His astonishing kindness, His generosity, His gracious favor, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich (abundantly blessed).
How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince’s daughter! the joints of thy thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman.

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

John 10:10 KJV The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I Am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

1 Corinthians 15:10 (KJV)

But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
