It’s just a gut feeling but… are you missing some sleep?
Today we are examining the effect of gut health on your sleep patterns.
Did you know that if you regularly have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep after a few hours, that you may not be able to rest because you cannot digest?
If you have heartburn, gastric reflux, indigestion with gas, or bloating, and even constipation or hemorrhoids, these issues may be the root cause of your poor sleep. Targeted nutrition and better education can help you make great strides to improve imbalanced gut flora, lack of digestive enzymes, food sensitivities, insufficient vitamins, minerals, water, and/or fiber.
Recent scientific studies show that our digestive systems is intricately linked to many of the same receptor sites that regulate our brain chemicals. An imbalance in these neurotransmitters (brain chemicals) like serotonin, epinephrine and dopamine can cause insomnia. Further research show a definite connection between “nervous stomach” and irritable bowel syndrome and sleep problems.
Targeted nutrition means getting the supplements and foods you need at the right times and in the correct amounts in the manner that the body’s design can utilize for health! The Picture of Health Series 1 – Nutrition and Wellness Essentials has a whole hour of teaching on sleep, plus another whole segment on magnesium and metabolism which directly affect your sleep patterns. That’s in addition to the training supplied on digestion!
So, why have one more week of missed sleep? Get the teaching series; follow this month as we explore sleep further; and join us for The Joshua Groups so you can digest, rest, and be your best!

Just like in the webinar…..the gut really is the physical and spiritual center of our bodies. We MUST take care of both to walk in divine health.
I'm so glad to read this. When I was first diagnosed with RA and began researching natural remedies, this was the one consistent thing I kept seeing: all diseases stem directly from the digestive system and sleep. Just before I was diagnosed, I had a terrible time with reflux to the point that my voice would crack and I would sound like Peter Brady…haha. So, after a year of being in remission and having my gall bladder removed, I am still having stomach issues. I know something is not quite right. But, I believe God is healing my body because I am better than I was a few months ago….still I won't give up until healing has completely manifested in my whole being. Thanks for what you and Dr. Ray do!!
listening to the motivational videos, the recorded Webinars, and reading the devotionals has shown me it’s not about losing weight; it’s about being a living sacrifice, being transformed by the renewing of my mind.
Food gives us energy; when eating healthy we have the proper amount of energy. “The More bread the more lead the more bread the more led”. To hear John Wayne died with pounds of undigested food in him is shocking to say the least. I can understand how it would interrupt God’s created purpose, how food was created to help us thrive not to help us die.
