Can We Just Have Some Straight Talk?
It’s the big campaigning year in the United States! Woohoo! But I bet you already knew that no matter where you live!
Has anybody else had their fill of political hoopla and super-pac campaign ads? I have. I will admit, I am no political follower; I lose interest just about the time they get to the real mud-slinging. I like to know where candidates stand, what they have voted on before, what their value system is, for sure. I consider it my responsibility to know those who labor along side me. And like them all or not, people in places of authority in the land I dwell in do labor along side me. And along side you wherever it is you live.
No matter whether on the world stage or in the U.S., what I have noticed as others are ranting and raving, slamming and bashing, is that the so-called “ordinary voters” have something in common that politicians often forget. These folks, you know, people that I have relationship with, people that I love, like, and trust, constituents, seem to really like one thing…
STRAIGHT TALK.
Straight talk, no lies, no spin, no stretching, no manipulating, no kidding. Just straight talk. Wouldn’t that be refreshing? Unfortunately, the national and global political machines think that is naive and that no one could ever win an election or global power by handling themselves that way; so, they hire people to do that part for them so their integrity and conscience remains clear. That’s how we have “off-mike” statements that return to bite people in the back when aired by global media.
It’s OK to LOL on that one. It is meant as satire. But, wait, can straight talk be satire? Hmmm.
Thankfully, there are good and powerful men and women, locally, nationally, and globally who are making a difference without compromising true integrity, who still value the honor of straight talk which produces real results in areas of real concern for the real people they really do serve.
Are you thinking, “What’s this article on politics got to do with my health?” Everything. You know, here at The Picture of Health, we train ourselves and our clients to live in complete health, Spirit, Soul, and Body. So, we teach and coach on a broad range of topics. Now, don’t get sweaty, I am NOT getting into your politics, except to say that you should always vote your values and with integrity.
Beyond that, this blog fits in perfectly still yet because we train our clients on how to reclaim health in every area… in fitness, faith, family, finances, and even fun! And, an even stronger reason it is appropriate here is because together, we CAN all make a change in the national and global economy and our futures. If we all, at the very grassroots level begin to employ straight talk in our own lives and let it ripple out in waves from there, we will have a greater impact than any government will ever make.
So today and all this month, we are beginning that revolutionary ground-swell via this blog and our social media connections. This month we continue to answer more of your most often asked questions and address some of the greatest stumbling blocks in the pursuit and possession of complete health in the new series,
“Straight Talk About…”
The key to our overcoming and reclaiming health in every area will be whether we can simply stop whining and making excuses and talk straight to ourselves about what is really true, be honest, and be open to learning how to step up to another level without condemnation in all areas of life! Now that is how one achieves complete health!
So get those feelings off your sleeve, get yourself positioned and primed for a power-filled month of health and wealth building coaching! We are headed into some real straight talk that will produce real results! Health is happening here!
For us and our house, for all who are plugged in here at The Picture of Health, we are on our way to our best year yet, it’s getting better, better, better than it’s ever been before!
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” NIV Ephesians 2:10

Easier said than done for some. I want the straight talk. However, I wasn't giving the straight talk. I am that one who would beat around the bush instead of proclaiming what I want. BUT, 2012, I CAN DO!!! From now on, Straight talk is what everyone is going to get from me. There is no condemnation. Say what you mean and mean what you say. let things fall where they may. Of course, only in love. This article put me in my place. THANKS
How do you check out political presents voting records? To be honest I am having a hard time with my eating, with tv. My husband has tv on morning till bed time. hard habits to break. need help. Cravens are bad at night.
Thank you for this article, some really encouraging challenging words. Some people shoot from the hips but straight talk is what we need, true honest words that encourage sand strengthens people.
I needed this article this week. Especially this part: "The key to our overcoming and reclaiming health in every area will be whether we can simply stop whining and making excuses and talk straight to ourselves about what is really true, be honest, and be open to learning how to step up to another level without condemnation in all areas of life! Now that is how one achieves complete health!" Thanks for this article.
I just love straight talk! I don't like for people to beat around the bush, just tell me like it is and we will move on from there. Looking forward to these articles this month!
Love this! I absolutely hate when someone beats around the bush with me. What I especially hate is the silent treatment when you've asked a question, but the person is afraid to tell you no, so they ignore it. I don't understand what's wrong with "no." "No" doesn't scare me. If "no" is the worse thing you're going to say to me, then I've got it made. And, if you need to bring correction to me, then just do it. By all means, don't discuss it with someone else. If you're a leader, then lead….tell people what you expect and what your vision is. Just do it! 🙂 YES!!!! I LOVE STRAIGHT TALK!!!! 😀
