Wow. Do I Have Connections?!

by Michelle Pearson

You may recall that I said a couple of days ago that the reason to be excited was because this piece of information we are exploring is all about “the connection”. So, what is it?

The closing thoughts that day were about a hardened heart. That is where “the connection” lies – at the hardened heart and why it was hardened. Let’s tie it all back in now with our discussion of the natural disease process and how these two pieces of knowledge connect in life-giving transformation.

The connection actually is the inseparable union and communion between our Spirit, Soul, and Body. If you are a Christian, you may know that the Bible says in Genesis 1:26-27 that we are made in His image. Our three parts, like His three parts (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) are three-in-one, all unique but never functioning completely independent of one another.

If you have a different belief system, that should not stop you from reading on. You surely know that science tells us also that we are a three-part being, usually referring to the parts as mind, body, and spirit. So we all can agree, the human design is different from any other creature in this regard. To the degree we understand this design, we can better see answers as to why we sometimes fail to walk in complete health. And, with better answers, we are better armed to make choices that produce better results.

The Greek word for this “communion” of Spirit, Soul, and Body is koinonia (koy-nohn-ee'-ah). It means fellowship, joint participation, and intercourse. It expresses the characteristic of intimacy. This communion, this intercourse and joint-participation, causes action or activity in one area (Spirit, Soul, or Body) to always have an affect on the other two areas. For instance, it is a well-known public and medical fact that mental or emotional stress can cause physical headaches, ulcers, and so on.

We defined previously that a hardened (emotional) heart is characterized by refusing to hear instruction, a result of closing your eyes to wisdom, and a result of one's choice to turn away and remain un-persuadable. So we have an action in the Soul (your mind, will, and emotions) that causes a result in the Spirit. Let me say it again this way: a hardened heart, which is a spiritual condition toward people and/or God, is a result of an action in our Soul (rejecting love, knowledge, or instruction).

There we have two of the three areas of our Spirit, Soul, and Body affect by the one action. Now, if we are made with three parts, bound together in communion (joint-participation), there must be a result that occurs in the body as well. What is it?

In the natural, we learned that elevated homocysteine levels harden the heart, dull the hearing, and blind the eyes. These are the same three results in the Spirit as in the Body! Can you see it?

What I am saying is, perhaps through-out our lives we have been presented knowledge and correction in some area and we rejected it,  closed our eyes, and pretended not to hear. We walled it off. That issue, whatever it is, has the power to literally have resulted in the physical body as a hardened heart, dull hearing, or blind eyes.

Still not persuaded? We can actually trace the path scientifically in the natural body. Watch this:

However you have responded previously in rejecting correction, direction, or persisting in knowingly destructive habits, those responses would be classified as disobedience and rebellion. What about worry? Lying? Promiscuity? Whatever it is you are doing that is in conflict with the design of the body and the peace of your spirit and soul, it leads to destruction. We are going to link all the possible things into just one word: resistance. (As in, resistance to Truth that is meant for your protection.)

Now, having established that, watch how "resistance," a spiritual action, causes a physical ailment or disease in the following scenarios. Ready?

It is proven by medical research and experience that stress taxes the body and uses up all your body's reserves (minerals, vitamins, energy). When you don’t have adequate reserves available, you can't fight off inflammation, destruction, and disease. When you have no mineral and vitamin reserves, one result is that the homocysteine in the body does not break down, as it should into anti-inflammatories. Instead, it remains in the blood stream and circulates causing damage to arteries and other body tissues. The body attempts to repair that damage by plaquing up the arteries with cholesterol. The plaque in the arteries eventually causes the condition of hardening. The hardened heart manifests in the physical body as heart damage; the same type damage in the ear, loss of hearing; the damage to the vessels of the eyes, blind eyes.

It is a spiritual principle acted on by choice in the soul with result in the body. It may be that God or a loved one tried to speak with us about our natural choices in the body and we put it off or didn't want to hear. Or perhaps they tried to teach us how to care for our body and we rejected the instruction. Or, really, it could be any number of issues. Whatever it is, it is resistance.  And the result is destruction.

And here's another powerful illustration dealing with damage to the brain producing loss of memory and understanding (such as happens with Alzheimer's). How do we get that?

Rebellion and resistance causes separation from love. The absence of love opens the door for fear. Fear-based living is manifest as stress in our lives. It is a medical truth that stress uses up our body’s reserves of the mineral zinc at alarming rates. How does that tie in and why is that important?

Zinc is the intelligence mineral - a protector of the brain. Without zinc, one gradually loses good brain function. In fact, a research study published in Neurology, January 25, 2005 states “persons prone to distress were 2.4 times more likely to develop Alzheimer's disease than persons not distress prone”!

Need more proof? Zinc is also connected with taste and smell. Research suggests that it is common for Alzheimer's patients to lose their taste and smell about two years before other symptoms are evident!

Isn't that amazing? And that is just a teaspoon full today! You've got to get our POH Series 1, particularly the Endocrine System class, for more on this! It is our number one requested class in the past twelve years!

Disease is no longer some horrible mystery that we have no say about! If there is a problem in the physical body, you need to check your heart and your habits! See what God or others have tried or are trying to show you. Believe what you've learned about the body's design and the results of right connections. Choose to stop resisting and rebelling against help! And activate changes even if it doesn’t seem immediately connected to the physical symptoms! What's after that? Achieve new wonderful results!

Be fully persuaded of your recovery! You can do it if you…

Believe. Choose. Activate. Achieve. (Repeat.)

Know someone who is struggling with some health problems?

Of course you do! Please share this with them.

Day 8  Done!
This article contains so much! There's no way to retain it all in one reading.  So amazing how it all ties together. Our eyes must be only on Him.

Dear Lord, Give me eyes to see and ears to hear what The Spirit of God is saying to me! When I looked up scriptures for the word "resist," I found that God resists the proud and we are to resist the devil! Tuning in to what God is saying and showing is a must! And then, the Bible says we must be not just hearers of The Word, but DOERS of The Word.  This article has opened my eyes.
